DOG DESTINATIONS

One of the great dog parks we discovered is the Frank S Ortiz Dog Park in New Mexico.

This large park has 138 acres has miles of trails to explore with one’s dog, featuring beautiful mountain views overlooking Santa Fe.

It is said to be the largest (land only) park of its kind in the United States.

There are no fences, with comfortable perimeter spacing for safety, making it the largest off-leash dog park in the country.

HELP FROM THE DOG PARK PROJECT

Frank S. Ortiz Park is regularly maintained and improved by The Dog Park Project, a nonprofit group who aims to provide enhancements.

The group works in conjunction with the City of Santa Fe Parks and Open Space Division.

Their goal is to help further increase the enjoyment of dogs and people in these spaces.

There’s also a smaller fenced-in park for dogs under 25 pounds, called Wilsonville, which they work on too.

DONATE TODAY

The Dog Park Project Team is always fundraising to try to continue with more improvements for the area, while preserving the natural beauty.

They are looking to add elements such as a play structure and agility course, a large structure to provide shade, picnic tables, and more to improve it for both dogs and humans.
